SSN Welcomes First Allies Ambassador Class

Since 2022, Steady State Network has raced as Allies with Oars to promote inclusion and accessibility for all rowers, regardless of gender identity. We’ve done this by pulling together competitive lineups for major regattas. In early 2025, we invited members from the rowing community to become Allies Ambassadors because it’s up to all of us to counteract the disinformation and hate campaign targeting the LGBTQIA+ community. Now is the time to show our support of racing opportunities that challenge the gender binary in rowing.

We’re excited and proud to welcome 18 new Ambassadors – rowers, coaches, coxswains, parents, teammates, and allies – each of whom have committed to invite dialogue in their rowing networks around gender inclusion in the areas of recruiting, racing, and retention. The Ambassadors come from 11 states, the District of Columbia, and British Columbia, Canada. Be on the lookout this year for Allies with Oars boats from coast to coast!
